  Families are encouraged not to take this step simply because their child is the “right age” but to consider if now is the right time for your child and your family. We encourage you to take the next step if your child is ready to prepare for the sacraments and you are ready to accept responsibility for helping your child fulfill the requirements.   WHAT WE OFFER
  
  RCIA adapted for Children - If you have a child seven years or older who needs to be baptized, they will be fully initiated into the Church and receive their Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. There is an additional $20 fee for those receiving sacraments.
  
  Reconciliation (Confession) & Eucharist (First Communion) - As you register your child for Faith Formation, you’ll notice the questions: “Is your child ready to prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation & Eucharist?” If your child is ready, please check “Yes!” There is an additional $20 fee for those receiving sacraments

  PREPARATION
  
  Our goal is to make children fall in love with Jesus and the Catholic Church. To help that process, we require children to participate fully in Children’s Ministry Program.
  
  In addition to participating in Children’s ministry, there will be some supplemental dates to attend throughout the year.
  
  We do not yet have the specific dates the children will receive the sacraments. We will let you know as soon as we know the dates.
  
  BIRTH/BAPTISM CERTIFICATE
  
  We require a copy of the child’s Baptismal Certificate to be given to consider them fully registered, even if they were Baptized at St. Finn Barr. New families – please email a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate to: [email protected] or mail a copy (photocopy is acceptable) to the parish office.
  
  A copy of your child’s Birth Certificate is required for those in RCIA adapted for Children to consider them fully registered.
  
  REGISTER
  
  If your child is ready to prepare for Baptism or Reconciliation & Eucharist, and you as a parent are ready to accept responsibility for helping your child fulfill all requirements, then we encourage you to register him/her when registration opens. You will be registering your child for Children’s Ministry, and the registration form will ask if the child is ready to prepare for Reconciliation & Eucharist. - Safety and Compliance
  
  St. Finn Barr Parish is committed to the protection and safety of all Parish children. The Archdiocese of San Francisco requires all adults who work with children (volunteer or paid) to complete a Live Scan fingerprint background check and remain current with the Archdiocese safety curriculum. In addition, the Archdiocese mandates yearly Child Safety classes for all students through VIRTUS.org. At St. Finn Barr, this extends to expectations of positive conduct within the learning environment.

  We want to best serve your child and provide a joyful, enriching Faith Formation classroom! If there is anything you would like to share about your child, please do so. In addition, if your child has an IEP or 504 plan at school, please let us know so that we may utilize any familiar learning supports.
